Man, I don’t know what to write for this in any language.

Maybe I would have said something like:

今日ありがとう！すごい楽しかった ^_^
きょう ありがとう！ すごい たのしかった
Thanks for (going out with me) tonight! I had a lot of fun ^_^

Then I could spend the next few days agonizing over the right way to ask them out again.
