Last week’s corrections

You and your friends are going to have a BBQ in a couple of weeks. You decide to invite your senpai to see if they’d like to come.

Aside from a brief stint in Sapporo, I’ve only ever lived in Tokyo, and I’ve been invited to a handful of BBQ’s in my time there… but never at a person’s house.

Most people living in Tokyo don’t have big enough outdoor areas at their home to host a BBQ. So when we came up with this prompt, I was envisioning a BBQ being held at a park with an area for it, like this or this.

Now that I think of it, the BBQ’s I’ve been invited to almost always are held near some body of water — be it the beach down in Enoshima or a park bordering Tokyo Bay.

Those two I linked are in parks bordering Tokyo Bay, over by Disneyland. My work going-away-party back in 2014 was a BBQ at a park in that general area. It ended up pouring rain the whole time, and everyone got soaked. Luckily it was summer, so it at least wasn’t cold.

Anyway, in more rural areas, the odds of it being at a person’s house would no doubt go up.
