An odd request for a café owner
Hi again. Niko here.
I completely forgot to send everyone’s feedback last week. I’m sorry! We were traveling to Japan, where we’ll be for the next few weeks, and it totally slipped my mind.
Since we missed last week, there are two prompts this week.
This week’s prompts
You live in Kyoto, and some friends are visiting you. You’re having lunch at a small café, which has some Shōwa-era-style beer posters on the wall. Your friend asks you to ask the owner if he can purchase one. You signal to the owner when she’s nearby, and she comes over to your table.

Last week’s corrections
You’re at サイゼリヤ (Saizeriya). The server just dropped off your meal, but it’s not what you ordered.
My go-to in this situation would be:
これ何々ですか?
これ なになに です か?
Is this [item]?
Then you’d replace 何々[なになに] with whatever item you ordered. Then hopefully they’d realize that they dropped off the wrong item.
You could also say:
何々頼んだんですけど
なになに たのんだ んです けど
I actually ordered [item].
Depending on your intonation, you might sound a little accusatory with this option. If you have a native speaker nearby, ask them to say it in both a nice and an angry/rude way.
Here’s Satoko’s feedback:
